Constrained Texture Restoration
نویسندگان
چکیده
Amethod is proposed for filling in missing areas of degraded images through explicit structure reconstruction, followed by texture synthesis. The structure being reconstructed represents meaningful edges from the image, which are traced inside the artefact. The structure reconstruction step relies on different properties of the edges touching the artefact and of the areas between them, in order to sketch the missing edges within the artefact area. The texture synthesis step is based on Markov random fields and is constrained by the traced edges in order to preserve both the shape and the appearance of the various regions in the image. The novelty of our contribution concerns constraining the texture synthesis, which proves to give results superior to the original texture synthesis alone, or to the smoothness-preserving structure-based restoration.

Audio restoration by constrained audio texture synthesis
Audio texture, a new audio medium, is used to synthesize long audio stream according to a given short example audio clip. In this paper, we extend this idea to audio texture restoration, or constrained audio texture synthesis for restoring those missing parts in an audio clip. It is useful in many applications such as audio restoration and audio reconstruction. It can also be used in error conc...
متن کاملDigital Image Restoration Techniques And Automation
The restoration of digital images can be carried out using two salient approaches, image inpainting and constrained texture synthesis. Each of these have spawned many algorithms to make the process more optimal, automated and accurate. This paper gives an overview of the current body of work on the subject, and discusses the future trends in this relatively new research field. It also proposes ...
متن کاملSolving Constrained Total-variation Image Restoration and Reconstruction Problems via Alternating Direction Methods
In this paper, we study alternating direction methods for solving constrained total-variation image restoration and reconstruction problems. Alternating direction methods can be implementable variants of the classical augmented Lagrangian method for optimization problems with separable structures and linear constraints. The proposed framework allows us to solve problems of image restoration, im...

In this paper we discuss the challenges of processing and converting 3D scanned data to representations suitable for interactive manipulation in the context of virtual restoration applications. We present a constrained parametrization approach that allows us to represent 3D scanned models as parametric surfaces defined over polyhedral domains. A combination of normaland spatial-based clustering...
متن کامل3D Object Repair Using 2D Algorithms
A number of three-dimensional algorithms have been proposed to solve the problem of patching surfaces to rectify and extrapolate missing information due to model problems or bad geometry visibility during data capture. On the other hand, a number of similar yet more simple and robust techniques apply to 2D image data and are used for texture restoration. In this paper we make an attempt to brin...
